Normally during this time of year we are preparing our fields, planting flowers, welcoming visitors from around the world and gearing-up for our summer season, including Lavender Weekend. With everything so uncertain at the moment, we find ourselves not really knowing what to do.
Last week, the Sequim Lavender Street Festival, which is part of the larger Sequim Lavender Weekend, was cancelled. However sad this news is, we agree with this decision. Our community, visitors, and lavender lovers safety is top priority.
What does this mean for Jardin du Soleil Lavender Festival? We are working closely with the other lavender farms and the City of Sequim to find a away to welcome guests safely this year. As of now, Jardin du Soleil is not open to the public as per Washington State guidelines. We are hoping to be opening the farm in the beginning of June as the state enters the next phase of its reopening plan. It is still uncertain as to what the guidelines will be in the middle of July. Therefore we can not possibly make any decisions about what an event at Jardin du Soleil would look like during Sequim Lavender Weekend. Please know that we want nothing more than to welcome visitors and carry on business as usual. The best way to keep up to date is to follow our pages and events on social media, and to check back here often for updates. Stay safe, take care of each other, and breathe that lavender extra deep.
Sincerely, The Schiefen Family
